Dana- I have been doing photography for about a year now. I worked for a couple of photographers which kind of sparked my interest for it. I shoot Nikon. As for lens's it depends on what you are shooting. If you are doing portraits of Hazel (she is super cute btw!) I would use a lens with a low aperture like the 50mm. Photoshop is a must (at least for me and my style) so it is awesome that you have it! I took some online classes through Lynda.com to learn all about photoshop. It has helped my editing process a ton! I would definitely recommend looking into it. That is exciting that you are interested in it. It is a fun hobby!
